About Me

Hi there 👋! My name is Edmond I'm a computer science student from Vancouver, BC.

When I was younger, I used to spend countless hours building model cars. I loved the process of carefully piecing together the intricate components and meticulously painting the tiny details. As I grew older, I realized that what drew me to model car building was not just the physical act of putting the car together, but the challenge of creating something complex and functional from individual parts.

This fascination with building and problem-solving eventually led me to pursue a degree in computer science. In my classes, I learned how to design and develop software applications, which, like model cars, require careful planning, attention to detail, and an understanding of how individual components fit together to create a larger system.

As I delved deeper into the world of software development, I realized that the skills I had honed while building model cars were highly transferable to this field. Both require creativity, perseverance, and the ability to think outside the box. And just as I had to test and tweak my model cars until they worked perfectly, I had to iterate on my software designs until they were efficient and effective.

Today, I am proud to be studying computer science, and I credit my childhood love of model car building for inspiring me to pursue this field.

Work Experience

Univerus Software Inc - Software Developer Intern

May 2022 - Dec 2022

During my time at Univerus, I worked alongside experienced developers to build and maintain software applications that met the needs of the company's clients. I contributed to all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to coding, testing, and deployment.

Languages/Technologies Used: ASP.NET Core, C#, Microsoft Server SQL, React.js, TypeScript, Cypress

2 Degrees Institute - Data Analyst Intern

Sept 2020 - May 2021

As a data analyst intern at 2 Degrees Institute as part of a UBC capstone project, I conducted extensive research on converting street lights to electric vehicle chargers in Vancouver. During my time at 2 Degrees Institute, I collected, analyzed, and interpreted data using a variety of tools and techniques to evaluate the feasibility and impact of this innovative project. I also collaborated with a team of experts to publish a paper on electric vehicle charging in an undergraduate journal, highlighting the potential of this technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable transportation.

Languages/Technologies Used: NumPy, Python, Microsoft Excel, GIS

Personal Projects

DryveTrack

Dryvetrack is a personal project that I built to help companies manage their fleet vehicles more efficiently. This application was developed using a stack of popular web technologies, including MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js. With Dryvetrack, companies can track the health of their fleet vehicles in real-time to ensure vehicular upkeep for long term cost savings.
